The Brintziki estate is located in the western Peloponnese, near the sacred town of Ancient Olympia. The Brintziki family has been growing vines on the property since 1932. The winemaker, Dionysios “Sakis” Brintziki, was raised on the estate. He and his wife, Dionysia, originally both professional musicians, took over the family winemaking business in 1994. From the start their express purpose has been to create unique wines that are based on grapes native to the region and that would illustrate the distinctive characteristics of the region. Considered to be Greece’s first green winery, the estate is certified organic and is completely carbon-neutral through the use of completely renewable solar and geothermal energy. Their Melios White is a blend of Roditis and Malagouzia done entirely in stainless steel; with aromas of citrus and stone fruit and light tropical notes, it is elegantly balanced with a refreshing palate.
